About the area
We
are three or four minutes walk from the centre of Braunton village with
its excellent shopping facilities and wide choice of pubs and restaurants.
Braunton is ideally situated for touring North Devon or for accessing the dramatic coastline. The spectacular beaches of Saunton, Croyde, Putsborough and Woolacombe with their golden sands, safe bathing and excellent surfing, are all within a short drive. So too are majestic Exmoor and the picturesque coastal villages of Clovelly, Appledore and Instow to the South and Lynton and Lynmouth to the North.
The
Braunton Burrows nature reserve, with the largest area of sand dunes in
England and designated the first UNESCO biosphere in the UK, is on the
doorstep. So are the coastal path for walkers and the Tarka trail for
cyclists.
Golfers have the choice of the championship course of Saunton, the Royal North Devon, the oldest links course in England, the testing cliff top course of Ilfracombe or the parkland Willingcott Valley all easily accessible from Bloomfield.
For
those looking for more leisurely pursuits, Braunton is a convenient centre
for visits to the gardens of Rosemoor and Marwood Hill or the National
Trust properties of Arlington Court and Watersmeet.
